How To Effectively Prevent Asthma Cough
You can effectively prevent asthma cough before it happens or effectively treat it as soon as it does happen.
Asthma cough occurs in asthmatic patients when their bronchi and bronchioles become inflamed, reducing the space through which air travels through the lungs.
This makes the asthmatic patient to work harder in trying to move air in and out of his or her lungs. This difficulty in breathing causes a mild pressure in the chest, followed by dry cough.
As it progresses, the difficulty in breathing and cough develops into wheezing and the little cough intensifies. If relief isn’t sort, it increases and produces thick and stringy mucus.
To prevent asthma cough, first make sure you always take your asthma medications when due. Don’t wait for an asthmatic attack before you take your medications.
Make it a constant habit to take your medications as you do your meals. Better still; get a way of reminding yourself that you need to take your medications on a daily basis (if that is what is recommended by your doctor).
If you adequately take your medications, you would stay many months or even years without experiencing any asthma cough (unless of course you are exposed to certain triggers).
To prevent asthma cough, you should also stay as far away as possible from asthma triggers such as tobacco smoke, chemical irritants and pollution, and other dust related triggers.
If you work in jobs where you are exposed to certain chemicals that cause asthma cough, then you should change jobs or talk to your employers about your condition.
They might decide to transfer you to other sections where you will not be exposed to such chemicals or substances that would trigger your asthma.
Doing these simple things can help you a great deal in dealing with asthma cough and attacks.
